I'm not sure if this strip should have ended on the second panel or as it's written. I think the real joke is in panel two; extending it further is just explaining the punchline.
I would say that the punchline is the contrast between Charlie Brown's implication that his logical rebuttal should have won him the argument, and the realistic fact that it only made Patty even angrier.
