January 27, 1952: Blind Man’s Bluff

Peanuts>

I expect a lot of kids today have never heard of this game, either.

I just like this one, it’s mostly a collage of smaller jokes, like “At least I’ll be near home!” and “What trees?”

  1. Hm, apparently both "bluff" and "buff" have been used to refer to this game.

  2. Is it me, or does the art (especially on Charlie Brown) look off? Like Schultz rushed this one out?

  3. Whichever it's called J.E., I can't say the name makes a whole lot of sense.

Madpuppy, the early Sunday strips are all like that. My guesses are that they may have been originally at a different size, either that or the early Sunday strips were done earlier in Peanut's run but for some reason were delayed longer than the daily strips were, resulting in a slight callback to an earlier art style. (And those are certainly are guesses....)
