In a world where graphical depictions of musical notation are so often nonsensical, it is worth noting that the excerpt in panel 1 is in fact the opening of Beethoven's Große Sonate für das Hammerklavier.

ReplyDeleteSchulz said in the Peanuts Golden Anniversary book (the one that had been in the works when he died) that he thought some readers enjoyed figuring out which musical work was represented in these strips. Well, I enjoy hearing about them.
