Reading this years ago, I always figured Lucy's appreciation for craftsmanship was genuine and sort of wistful. Then again, that would probably be more in character for Charlie Brown than Lucy...

ReplyDeleteI remember this from my childhood. I always thought Lucy's appreciation for the toy bins' construction was priceless. Definitely "genuine and sort of wistful," @ John Evans. She's resigned herself to being ignored by Patty, and is talking to herself mostly. And it IS a good idea to use screws instead of nails, after all.
