Sunday, September 13, 1953: Three shades of green
Another bit of metaphorical art in the title panel. This is one of my favorite strips, Schroeder's personality comes out very vividly here.

This one probably made more sense in color. It might be one of the only times Schulz had specific colors in mind for a Sunday strip.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the musical notations are done in the third panel. And, of course, another dig at accordions...
ReplyDeleteActually, the strip is just as funny in B&W as it would be in color... perhaps more so, because you *don't* see those shades of green in the punchline.
